VALENTINE'S DAY VAUDEVILLIANS
BRING MUCH LOVE FOR NO-KILL ANIMAL RESCUE
[VENICE, CALIFORNIA] - Making use of Valentine’s Day (Saturday, February 14th, as singlefolk are acutely aware) as an opportunity to pimp the idea of pet adoption, increase awareness of spay & neuter programs, and raise money for the care of Much Love Animal Rescue’s abandoned & abused mixbreed mutts & companion kitties awaiting permanent homes, Grassroots Acoustica #20’s Puppy Love Edition herds Ellen’s Emmy- and Peabody-winning Puppy Episode writer Tracy Newman and her band The Reinforcements, musicians' musician Rick Cunha, rotating rep-house players Lisa Turner & Debra Davis, series newcomers Aleksandra Sever with guitar hero Buzz Feiten, special guest Lisa Nemzo, who opens the event with a cover of Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars along with a sampling from her latest CD Unlock My Heart which coincidentally enough launches that very day, and, from the founders’ family, working dogs Jane Bolduc, artist-in-residence Byron Pfeifer & host Mark Islam.
Now permanently microchipped at The Talking Stick Coffee Lounge on the second Saturday of every month, donation-driven Grassroots Acoustica has been attracting record turnouts as well as its share of recognition & acknowledgement in recent months. Folkworks.org's year-end wrap-up for example names the singer/songwriter showcase one of L.A.'s best monthly music events, praising in particular each month's carefully thought-out lineup; moreover, Farwest Almanac observes that the emphasis on fundraising “makes you feel less guilty for all the drinking you do,” and with good reason: Without ever charging a cover, Grassroots Acoustica’s previous 19 shows have raised $12,408 for humanities, education, social services, medical research, preservation & animal rescue organizations serving greater metropolitan Los Angeles
Run entirely by like-minded volunteer professionals, Much Love Animal Rescue is a 100% non-profit, no-kill organization dedicated to reducing overpopulation, abuse and neglect of domestic animals by rescuing unadopted strays scheduled to be euthanized, securing no-kill facilities where rescues can be sheltered safely, educating the public on responsible pet guardianship, and providing medical care as well as spay and neuter services to reduce the number of unwanted animals on the street.

Starting at 7 p.m., the 3-hour event is free & open to the public, and while there is no cover charge or suggested minimum for the Valentine’s Day Puppy Love Edition, 100% of any donations to collection baskets will directly benefit Much Love Animal Rescue.
